Stephanie Dill taught 4th and 6th grade in Oakland for ten years and has now opened up a new private tutoring company to help students who are struggling and need extra help in all areas. California Common Core Standards are rigorous and these standards are where my expertise lies.
Every Child learns in different ways, so differentiated instruction will be utilized, according to students needs.

What is the Common Core?
The Common Core State Standards describe learning goals for each grade level in math and English language arts, with a focus on preparing students for college and the real world. The standards were developed by a group of state education chiefs and governors with help from teachers and curriculum experts. Forty-three states have adopted the standards and are currently implementing them in their public schools.
Many people recognize that each person prefers different learning styles and techniques. Learning styles group common ways that people learn. Everyone has a mix of learning styles. Some people may find that they have a dominant style of learning, with far less use of the other styles. Others may find that they use different styles in different circumstances.
There are nine different intelligences and everyone has at least one or maybe more of those intelligences, and as a result, learning techniques will vary. For every student learning will be tailored to each individual.
